Vandals Damage Resident’s Signs

Lawrenceburg Now

Law enforcement officials took a complaint from a local man last weekend after he discovered that signs he had posted on his property had been shot and otherwise damaged by vandals.

Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the Lanning Road home on Sunday.

The forty-seven year old victim reported that vandals had bent the sides in on one of the signs, painting a demeaning message on it. Another sign had been shot multiple times by what appeared to be a small caliber weapon.

Although the signs signified “no trespassing,” the victim said that the persons responsible had to actually come onto his property in order to inflict the damage. He said he had posted the signs due to the fact that there is a shooting range situated on the property and he had wanted to ensure that no one sustained injury.
