Texas Woman Arrested For Shoplifting At Lawrenceburg Business
Lawrenceburg Now
A resident of the State of Texas was arrested at a Lawrenceburg business last week after security personnel caught her shoplifting.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were called to Walmart on North Locust Avenue to investigate. Asset Protection employees had detained forty-four year old Johnnie Lee Willenberg of Midland, Texas. They reported noticing that she had collected $500 worth merchandise in her shopping cart, then attempted to leave without paying for it. The merchandise included food items, a tablet, computer, and household items.
Employees said that Willenberg had signed a no trespassing document in August of last year that banned her from being on any Walmart property. Officers indicate that she did confess to the crime.
Willenberg granted consent for a search of her vehicle. Inside, officers report they found a Dell computer that she said she had gotten from a pawn shop in Texas. The serial number was checked through Walmart’s system and they found that it had come from a Walmart store in Texas, but that it had not been purchased. Willenberg then admitted that she had stolen it.
Willenberg was arrested for theft of property over $500. She was also charged with burglary due to the fact that she had been banned from Walmart properties. She has been scheduled an initial appearance in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on April 1, 2016.
