Individuals Arrested In Vandalism
Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department officials announced Wednesday that two Lawrenceburg men have been arrested in connection with a recent vandalism spree that targeted several local churches and a market.
Toby Alex Staggs, age 21, of 437 Third Street and nineteen year old Gregory Isiah Gordon of 828 Windsor Drive were incarcerated on five counts apiece of vandalism over $500.
The pair as charged in connection with vandalism incidents reported at Mt. Zion Church of Christ, Bethel Baptist Church, Deerfield Church of Christ, and Self’s Market.
A joint investigation was undertaken with the Lawrenceburg Police Department earlier this month after similar crimes were reported inside the city limits. Detectives indicate that evidence was discovered that links several individuals to the crimes. They will be presenting evidence to the Lawrence County Grand Jury in coming weeks. Afterwards, detectives say they expect to make additional arrests.
Both Staggs and Gordon were incarcerated at the Lawrence County Detention Center, then later posted bond and were released from custody to await an appearance in General Sessions Court.
