A Poplar Street resident reported $50 worth of damage to police officers when someone attempted to break into her unoccupied Groh Street property that was under renovation. The culprit had busted a window pane on a door.
Shoplifting
First Avenue, Lawrenceburg resident Tiffany Renee Gaines, 33, was cited for shoplifting after Walmart security personnel discovered that she had attempted to leave the store without paying for $120.68 worth of merchandise. She is scheduled to appear in court on March 28.

Walmart personnel reported observing Karen Nell Nix, 50, of 1066 Prosser Road, attempting to leave the premises without paying for $39.56 worth of merchandise. She was cited for shoplifting with an initial court date on March 28.

Walmart Loss Prevention personnel issued citations to a couple when they attempted to steal $103.03 worth of merchandise in mid-February. They are scheduled to appear in court on March 28.

Walmart employees reported stopping Leoma resident Johnathan Leonard Abner, 22, for concealing a package of Ear Relief, valued at $7.88, in his sleeve. They said that he had paid for other items, but failed to pay for the package. A female shopping with him claimed no knowledge of the events and was not charged. Abner is to appear in court on March 28.
Theft of property
David Michael Roemer, 28, of 135 Amish Circle, Ethridge was arrested on charges of theft of property and aggravated criminal trespassing when Walmart employees found that he was inside the store after having previously been banned from the premises. Police reports show that he concealed a USB cable and car adapter valued at $9.74 inside his pocket and walked past the cash registers “in an attempt to steal the merchandise.” He was arrested and booked through the Lawrence County Detention Center on the charges. He is scheduled for an initial court appearance on March 28.
