Man walks out with victim's television
Lawrenceburg Now
A caretaker of a Revilo Road resident filed a complaint with law enforcement officers Monday, indicating that an acquaintance had taken his television against his wishes and attempted to leave the premises.
According to reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to the home at around 6:15 p.m. The woman reported that she was the caretaker for the resident, who is mentally incompetent.
She said that a twenty-nine year old acquaintance had stopped by, trying to get the victim to trade his television for two pocket knives. When the victim declined, she said that he unplugged the TV and walked out, placing it inside of his car.
Before the man left, the caretaker's son pulled into the driveway, blocking his exit. He told the man that he was not going to take the TV and retrieved it from his car, returning it to the victim. He told deputies, however, that he had forgotten to retrieve the accompanying remote control.
The caretaker informed deputies that the man had been instructed multiple times to stay off of the property.
The matter remains under investigation at the present time.
