Lawrenceburg Council Will Meet In Regular Session Thursday
Members of the Lawrenceburg Board of Mayor and Council are scheduled to meet in regular session Thursday morning.
Council members have only a few items of business to consider. They will consider approval of a resolution to declare property in the Lawrenceburg Police Department as surplus so that it may be sold via internet auction.
A second resolution would allow the city’s Fire Department to apply for grant monies through the Department of Homeland Security’s Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant. If received, the funds would allow the department to hire three fulltime frontline firefighters for a period of two years.
The remaining two resolutions are to reappoint city representatives to two boards. One is to reappoint Tim Dickey to the Tennessee Southern Railroad Authority Board. The other is to reappoint Robert Parker to the Lawrence County Board of Equalization.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will get underway at 8:30 a.m. in the council meeting room of the Lawrenceburg Municipal Complex on the public square.
