On Wednesday, officers responded to a Johnson Street home where the resident reported a woman he had hired to clean his home had apparently stolen $600 cash from his wallet. He told officers that two checkbooks were missing, as well.
Hit and run
The owner of a 2003 Ford F150 reported around $1,000 worth of damage after her truck was struck in the parking lot at Goodwill on North Locust Avenue Wednesday. The victim said that another driver, also driving a Ford F150, had struck her vehicle, then fled the scene. She and witnesses were able to provide officers with a license plate number.
Vehicle burglary
The owner of a 2002 Ford Ranger reported to police officers Wednesday that someone had entered the truck at his Jackson Street home overnight, stealing five firearms. Missing were three muzzleloaders, a pellet gun and a BB gun. Total loss was estimated at $485.
Vehicle burglary
Officers were dispatched to a Jackson Street home Tuesday after the resident discovered someone had burglarized his 1990 Chevrolet Truck. He said the perpetrator had gained entry through a sliding rear window. The interior had been rummaged through. The only thing that appeared to be missing was a Fitbit watch valued at $50.
Theft
On Tuesday, officers spoke with a resident of Fourth Street who reported someone had siphoned approximately five gallons of gasoline out of his 2004 Chevrolet truck overnight, resulting in a loss of around $15.00. He said that he had noticed his dogs barking at around midnight.
