Spring Production By Lawrenceburg Community Theater
Lawrenceburg Community Theater presents their spring production "First Baptist Of Ivy Gap" next month at the historic Crockett Theater. The play is the story of six women who gather at the First Baptist of Ivy Gap church to roll bandages for soldiers fighting in World War II as well as making plans for the church's 75th anniversary and then 25 years later as they gather for the church's 100th anniversary celebration.
Among the characters are Edith, the pastor's wise cracking wife; Luby,
whose son is fighting in the Pacific; Mae Ellen, the church's rebellious organist; Olene, who dreams of a career in Hollywood; Vera, a well-to-do influential church member; and Sammy, a shy newcomer.
These six very different women find humor, comfort and forgiveness in each other. The cast includes Kaye Luffman, Rachel Gillespie, Christina Robertson, Kathy Burns, Kaylee Hamelink, and Rachel Lee.
The show is directed by Bob Augustin. Performances will be held Friday and Saturday, March 4th, 5th, 11th and 12th at 7:00pm with matinees at 2:00 pm Sunday, March 6th and 13th.
Tickets are 10 dollars each at the door and are available in advance by calling 762-4231.
