Arrest Made On Cheatham County Charges During Vandalism, Theft Investigation
Lawrenceburg Now
A recent investigation into the vandalism of a local home and theft from a vehicle led local law enforcement officers to arrest two individuals, one of whom was wanted in Cheatham County.
Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department were initially called to a home on Sunrise Drive where the victim reported someone had stolen out of her car a bag containing her medications. She said that a chainsaw and saddle were missing from her shed, and that indecent graffiti had been painted on the side of her house. She estimated her loss to be around $2,640.
When leaving the home, deputies report noticing that road signs had been vandalized, as well, and began to check the area. Approximately one hour later, they report noticing a suspicious vehicle. A check of the license plate number revealed that it had been reported as stolen in Cheatham County.
The deputy initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the male and female vehicle occupants. The driver, identified as thirty-two year old Sara Marie Green, was found to be driving on a suspended driver’s license. While checking the male’s identity, they learned that there was an active warrant against him in Cheatham County for failure to appear in court. He was identified as Arnold Bowers.
After obtaining permission to conduct a search of the vehicle, reports show that officers found a jewelry box sitting inside of a clothes basket. When they opened it, they found that a bag full of pills had been concealed inside.
Both Green and Bowers were transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center for booking. Bowers was booked only on the Cheatham County warrant. Deputies obtained warrants charging Green with theft, possession of a legend drug for the purpose of resale, and driving on a suspended driver’s license.
