Jail Visitor Is Arrested For Being Intoxicated

   A man visiting the Lawrence County Detention Center was placed under arrest last week after he was found to be intoxicated.

   Reports filed through the sheriff’s department show that the man was confronted while attempting to board the elevator. Thirty-one year old Jay Thomas Schneider of 519 Third Street, Lawrenceburg, was said to be exhibiting signs of slurred speech and unsteadiness while standing. Deputies noted also that he had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage about his person.

   Schneider told deputies that he had taken blood pressure medicine and drank water and Mountain Dew.

   Schneider was arrested and booked into the detention center on charges of public intoxication.
