Attention Citizens and Visitors of Lawrenceburg
The Lawrenceburg Fire Department lost a HERO (Engineer Jason Dickey) Monday February 12th, 2018. In honor of his life, the life he gave to protect and serve the people of Lawrenceburg as a fire fighter and first responder, we would like to announce to the citizens and visitors of Lawrenceburg there will be an increase in traffic and possible road blocks today during visitation and tomorrow for Jason Dickey’s funeral.
Visitation is today at Mars Hill Baptist Church from 2pm to 8pm on Weakley Creek Road. The funeral is tomorrow February 16th 2018 scheduled to begin at 11am with a funeral procession beginning around 1pm.
Prior to, during, and after visitation today, there will be an increase of traffic on Lawrenceburg city streets. We presume that N. Locust Avenue, Weakley Creek Road, Springer Road, Mattoxtown Road, E. Gaines Street, Hwy 64 (by-pass) and possible other streets will see this increase. Please be cautious in these areas and respectful to other motorist. We also presume these streets will be more affected tomorrow prior to, during, and after the funeral.
The funeral procession will begin on Weakley Creek Road and enter the city limits around 1pm. From Weakley Creek Road, the procession will turn left at N. Locust Avenue and travel southbound on Locust until it exits the city limits on Hwy 43 South in Leoma. We will have all major intersections shutdown that are in this procession.
We ask that all motorist use alternate routes to avoid any inconveniences that may arise. If you wish to honor Engineer Jason Dickey during the funeral procession, we ask that you please stand on the sidewalks and park vehicles in parking lots, not in the roadway or on curbs.
Once again, please be aware of these traffic delays and drive safely.
