Higher Education Importance Demonstrated

Personal Finance is a state required class of graduate.  In Mrs. Hallmark’s Personal Finance class at Lawrence County High School  students learned the importance of Higher Education.

The objective was to build a free standing tower out of 20 straws and one container of play dough in less than ten minutes.  Each time had limitations by the amount of education.  There were five teams:

• ·         High School Dropouts
• ·         High School Graduates
• ·         Associate’s Degree
• ·         College Degree
• ·         Professionals

The High School dropouts were unable to communicate verbally and could only use one hand.  The High School Graduates could talk but could only use one hand.  The Associate’s Degrees could use  both hands but couldn’t communicate verbally.  The College Degree could have one team member to verbally communicate and could use both hands.  The Professionals had no limitations.
