Lawrenceburg Now
Theft
Police officers responded to an Oak Street home where the thirty-five year old resident reported that someone had stolen several items out of her vehicle. WIC vouchers, a birth certificate, and loose change were stolen, resulting in an approximate loss of $420.
Shoplifting
Walmart security personnel reported that twenty-seven year old Amanda Leann Hughes of 599 Revilo Road, Leoma, was cited for shoplifting after it was discovered that she had attempted to leave the store without paying for several food items she had concealed inside her purse.
Theft
Walmart security personnel reported that two people were issued citations when they changed a child’s clothing, removed the tags, then left without paying for them. Reports show that the five year old had soiled his clothing, therefore personnel allowed them to leave with the items, indicating that the price could be collected when the couple appeared in court.
Shoplifting
A citation for shoplifting was issued to twenty-nine year old Tingle Trapp Road resident Jessica Renee Fisher after Walmart employees observed her opening packages and placing items inside her purse. She had reportedly collected $22.88 worth of razors. She was confronted before leaving the store.
Theft
Walmart security personnel reported that a white female had stolen two packs of batteries and a battery charger, valued at $40.89, leaving the premises in a mid-size red SUV bearing Giles County license plates.
Shoplifting
Citations were issued against two Cypress Inn residents after Walmart personnel observed them shoplifting. Employees noticed a large group of individuals, indicating to police officers that some of them had been shoplifting merchandise. The couple was detained and when their bags were searched it was discovered that there was $16.64 worth of items inside for which they had not paid. Citations were issued to Gregory Allen Vaughn, 47, and Betsy Ann Vaughn, age 31.
Criminal Trespassing
Walmart personnel reported to police officers that a thirty-two year old Watson Road resident who had been banned from the premises, was seen inside the store building. They said they do plan to seek prosecution.
Shoplifting
Walmart authorities reported to police officers that they had caught a thirty-year-old Pulaski woman attempting to steal a DVD. They said that when they attempted to stop her, she left the DVD and fled.
Fraud
The same couple was discovered to have fraudulently obtained refunds at Walmart on multiple occasions after taking merchandise from inside the store. In one instance, the couple reportedly obtain a $54.26 refund for a camera she had taken from a shelf in the electronics department. During the second incident she was denied a refund for two Barbie dolls. Personnel told her that they could not accept her ID because she had made too many returns without a receipt. Reports show that she went outside and got a male to return the dolls, fraudulently obtaining $43.41. Charges are pending.
Criminal Trespassing
During a review of security video, Walmart personnel reported discovering two occasions on which a twenty-four year old Randall Street resident had trespassed after having been banned from the premises.
Shoplifting
Security personnel at Walmart reported to police that they had caught a Cherry Hill Road, Leoma woman shoplifting multiple clothing items, with a combined value of $147.55.
Criminal Trespassing/Theft
Walmart personnel filed three complaints against the same couple after reviewing security footage. They said that twenty-eight year old male and twenty-four year old female residents of Amish Circle in Ethridge had been seen inside the store on three separate occasions after having been told not to return to the property. During one of the incidents, they report that the pair stole a Coke and miscellaneous pet supplies. On a second occasion, they said that the man had been seen stealing a bag of oranges. Altogether, they estimated loss at $77.37.
