Wednesday Crime Report
Vandalism
A resident of American Boulevard in St. Joseph reported $40 in damages at the hand of vandals after discovering that her mailbox had been damaged overnight. Tire marks leading to the mailbox were noted in the police report. She told deputies that she had noticed a suspicious vehicle passing her home slowly on the weekends for around a month. She was able to provide an Alabama license plate number to deputies for investigative purposes.
Theft
Deputies answered a call to a State Line Road home where the resident reported his garbage can had been stolen from outside his home. He told deputies that his neighbor’s mailbox had been knocked over, as well. He said that he had heard all of the neighborhood dogs barking during the previous night.
Burglary/theft
Deputies were called to a Overnack Road property where the owner reported someone had damaged his house that had been listed for sale. The perpetrator removed screws to gain entry through an access point, walking on ceiling tiles and damaging the ceiling in three rooms. A 1970 Allis Chalmers tractor with a finishing mower attached was stolen. Damages and loss were estimated at approximately $8,000.
Theft
A local school bus driver reported to deputies that the stop sign had been stolen off of his bus while it was parked at his house during the weekend. The air line and electrical wiring had been cut and the bolts removed. Damage and loss was estimated to total $400.
Burglary
Deputies answered a call to State Line Road in St. Joseph where the resident said he returned home to find that his home had been burglarized sometime between 3:00 and 5:45 p.m. Cabinets had been searched and a number of items left lying on the ground. A Sony flat screen TV and several prescription medications were missing, resulting a loss of $215.
Vandalism
A resident of Spring Creek Road filed a complaint with deputies after finding that his mailbox had been vandalized. Reports show that the mailbox had been pained with black spray paint. He estimated damages at $10.
Burglary
A Rogers Street resident returned to her home recently to find that someone had gained illegal entry. She told deputies that she noticed before entering that her lock had been tampered with. Inside, she found that her 32” Vizio flat screen TV was missing. It had an estimated value of $248.
Vandalism
A Prokesh Road, Leoma resident reported to deputies that someone had knocked his mailbox off of the post, destroying it. He estimated loss to be $20. He said that the mailboxes of several of his neighbors on nearby Pattershack Road were damaged, as well.
Theft
The victims of a theft reported to deputies that items had been stolen from both of their vehicles overnight. $470 in cash was stolen out of the male victim’s vehicle which was parked inside his garage. A wallet containing $160 in cash was stolen out of his girlfriend’s vehicle, which had been parked in the driveway.
