Frozen Food Stolen And Breaker Box Damaged During Recent Burglary
Law enforcement officers were asked to investigate recently when a resident returned to his home to find that burglars had stolen food and damaged his breaker box.
The resident of Bluff Road in Loretto reported to Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies that since his arrest in connection with a domestic altercation with a relative, he had been staying in Florence, Alabama. He said that his girlfriend had returned to his home to find that it had been burglarized.
Deputies noted that entry had been gained by removing a screen on a kitchen window, then raising the window. Inside, drawers had been rummaged through and clothing tossed throughout the victim’s bedroom.
There was no power to the home and it was discovered that the perpetrator had used an object to beat the breaker box, resulting in damage. Deputies believe that the person responsible turned off the power at the box prior to the vandalism.
The only thing that appeared to be missing was frozen food from the victim’s freezer.
Investigation in the matter is currently on-going.
