Counterfeit money
Sheriff’s deputies responded to Dollar General located at 3615 Highway 43 North on Tuesday after it was discovered that someone had passed a counterfeit $100 bill there. The bill was passed just after 3:00 p.m. by a white male wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans. Employees were able to provide a copy of security video that showed the transaction.
Vandalism
On Tuesday, deputies spoke with a Midway Road resident who had discovered damage to his field from what appeared to be an ATV. He said he believed the damage had occurred the previous night. Damages were estimated at $350.
Theft
Police officers spoke with the victim of a theft at Walmart on Wednesday. She reported that after shopping she had returned her shopping cart to the cart return and inadvertently left her wallet in the cart. She said she left, then returned a short time later to find that it was missing. Loss was approximately $73.
Aggravated burglary
Residents in the process of moving from a Fain Court address reported to police officers on Tuesday that the house had been burglarized. Entry had been made through a broken window. Missing were PS2 and Wii gaming systems, 12 DVDs, a 32” TV, Samsung Galaxy cell phone, and a hat. Loss was said to be $470.
Burglary
Officers responded to a storage facility on Mattoxtown Road Wednesday where locks had been cut off of a couple of storage units. Officers spoke with both victims. The first reported a 49” LG television, Husqvarna weed eater, Skil saw, sander, and soldering iron missing. Total loss was placed at $610. The second victim reported that a 50” Element brand television had been stolen from her unit, resulting in a loss of $408.
