Two free seminars focus on heart disease

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in both men and women, taking more than 600,000 lives annually. In conjunction with Heart Month, Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) will offer two free heart health seminars on Tuesday, February 28 and the community is invited to attend.

Cardiologists with Vanderbilt Heart-Columbia on the MRMC medical staff will present the pair of programs.

Women and Heart Disease Luncheon - Noon

The Maury Regional Women’s Center will host a free Women Helping Women luncheon program on Tuesday, February 28, at noon, in the Auxiliary Conference Room. Dr. Temujin Dinaram will present the program titled “Women and Heart Disease.” Lunch will be provided. Seating is limited, so reservations are required.

Women Helping Women is a free lunch and learn series that addresses health issues facing women. The program is presented by the Maury Regional Women’s Center, recognized as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology.

Free Heart Seminar – 6 PM

A free community seminar on heart health will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28. Dr. Amit N. Keswani will present the program titled “Preventative Cardiology and Other Alternative Facts.”

The program will be held in the Auxiliary Conference Room at the medical center and is open to the public. Refreshments will be provided. Reservations are requested.
