Friday Crime Report
Lawrenceburg Now
Aggravated burglary
Police officers made their way to a Ninth Street home Tuesday to speak with the fifty-one year old resident. He reported that while he was away from home between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. someone gained entry and stole a small fire safe box that contained two car titles, his prescription medications, and $4,500 cash. He said that the doors had been unsecured at the time the crime occurred.
Theft
On Tuesday officers responded to an address on Springer Drive where the victim, age 60, reported that a relative had stolen her purse, containing her wallet and various personal items. She said that the person responsible had used her Social Security income card, spending the entire $1,300 balance.
Aggravated burglary
Police officers were called to Lawrence County Memorial Gardens on Wednesday to speak with a man who said that memorials left at his father’s grave had been stolen and vandalized. The man told officers that flowers and a flag placed on the grave were missing entirely and that solar lights had been damaged. Officers checked the area but reported that no other grave sites appeared to have been disturbed.
