Wednesday Crime Report
Fraud
A Mattox Road resident reported to deputies that he had found a fraudulent transaction on his bank statement totaling $249.95. The transaction was to The Vitamin Shop of New York, New York. He contacted company officials and learned that the purchase was to be shipped to an address in California City, California. He told deputies that he had been stationed there while serving in the armed forces. The company refunded the money and the victim canceled his debit card.
Theft
A West Point Road resident reported to deputies that she believed her medications were being stolen out of her mailbox. She said that her daughter had shipped two different packages “next day delivery,” but that she had not received them. She said that she was unable to obtain the tracking numbers that would allow them to gain additional information.
Burglary
A Tingle Trapp Road resident spoke with deputies Sunday, reporting that medications had gone missing from her home. She told deputies that she had recently had the prescriptions filled and noticed that the majority of them were gone. The victim said the exterior doors had been locked but that some of the interior doors that she had left closed were opened. Deputies found no sign of forced entry.
Theft
A Hannah Street, Iron City man reported to deputies that his Suzuki King Quad 700 four-wheeler valued at $7,500 had been stolen from his front driveway. He said he heard his dogs barking shortly before midnight so he went out and removed the four-wheeler key. A battery charger, which had been attached to the four-wheeler, was left lying on the driveway.
Vandalism
Around $600 worth of damage was incurred by residents of Robbins Road in West Point overnight Sunday when a window was broken out of a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. One of the residents said he had heard his dogs barking and looked out, noticing a small truck or SUV around the spot where the car had been parked.
