Vandals Spray Paint Church, Vehicles
More vandalism incidents involving spray paint were reported to law enforcement officials in Lawrenceburg last week, these involving a church and a couple of vehicles.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were initially called to a First Avenue home where the fifty year old resident reported that someone had drawn a line in black spray paint along the trunk lid, roof, windshield, and hood of his 2005 Dodge Neon. He told officers that the vandalism had occurred overnight while the truck was parked in his driveway. He estimated damages at $250.
The second call was to First Street Church of Christ. A church member reported that overnight Wednesday vandals had used black spray paint to paint an anarchy symbol, the number 666 and various other symbols on the south, west, and north exterior walls of the church building. Damages to the church were said to be approximately $1,000.
In a third incident officers answered a call to Earl Drive where the resident reported that his 2008 Toyota truck had been vandalized in a similar manner. The victim said that the vandalism had taken place overnight Wednesday, but that he had not noticed the damage until he went to his truck while at work Thursday. Black paint had been sprayed along one side, resulting in some $200 worth of damage.
Investigation into the recent vandalism incidents is on-going currently through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone with information about the crimes should contact the department at 931-762-2276.
