Lawrenceburg Now
Vandalism
A Gimlet Road property owner reported to deputies that approximately thirty feet of fencing had been damaged on her property when it was apparently struck by a vehicle. She estimated damages to be $250.
Burglary
Deputies responded to a location on Campbellsville Pike where a victim reported the burglary of his shop building. He said that he had left around 6:30 p.m., returning around 10:30 the following morning to find that a number of items were missing. Items missing include a mig welder, chainsaw, torque wrenches, impact gun, and a variety of hand tools. Loss was estimated to be $1,850.
Identity theft
A local man spoke with deputies last week, reporting that someone had used his identity to obtain cell phones. He reported that his phone had recently been cut off and that he had contacted his provider, AT&T. Representatives told him that two iPhone 7s had been purchased using his personal information and shipped to an address in Wisconsin. They did not provide him with the shipping address, but said that the billing address was in Yonkers, New York. The phones had a combined value of $1,000.
Burglary
A resident of Bluff Road in Loretto filed a complaint with deputies Sunday, indicating that someone had broken into her home after she left for work. She said that her 42 inch TV was missing along with two heaters, a DVD player, around thirty DVDs, and a jar filled with change. All together loss was estimated to be $1,460.
Theft
On Wednesday, a North Mahr Avenue resident reported to police officers that shortly after a relative had left her home she discovered her prescription medications were missing. She said the oxycodone and gabapentin pills were taken out of a bag stored in her bedroom closet. She said that while looking around she also noticed that her purse was missing along with the contents, which included her wallet and the title to her car. Loss was said to be around $64.
Shoplifting
Officers responded to Dollar General Store on North Locust Avenue last week where an employee reported that a woman had tried to the leave the store without paying for $37.45 worth of merchandise. Employees confronted the woman and detained her until officers arrived. Officers cited the woman, identified as Brittany Lee Burns, 29, of Manor Drive, for the crime of shoplifting.
Vandalism
A twenty-seven year old Caney Circle resident reported to police officers that his 2004 Chevrolet truck had sustained damage to the paint while parked in his driveway. The paint was scratched down both sides of the truck and a derogatory word was carved into the hood. He said he had no idea who could have committed the crime. He told officers that his insurance deductible is $500.
Counterfeit money
Police officers were called to Community Bank on North Locust Avenue last week after employees found a counterfeit $20 bill was found in a Lawrenceburg business’ deposit. The matter remains under investigation.
Aggravated burglary
On Friday officers responded to Ann Road where a woman said she arrived at her deceased sister’s home to find exterior doors and a garage door were standing open. Inside the garage, a door had been opened on her sister’s Lincoln MKX. The victim said that nothing appeared to be missing and that the doors had been left unsecured.
