Arrest made in Lawrence County in 2009 Columbia murder

Columbia authorities report that a Lawrence County man was taken into police custody Tuesday night after having been indicted in connection with a 2009 murder that occurred in Maury County.

Leoma resident Christopher Johnson, age 34, was one of three men indicted in connection with the May 3, 2009 execution style shooting of Natasia Mosley, age 22. After an eight-year investigation through the Columbia Police Department, Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the District Attorney’s office, a grand jury opted to return the indictments on Monday.

Mosley’s body was discovered behind the American Legion Post on East End Street in Columbia. Authorities said she had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, possibly from a rifle.
