Advanced Master Beef Producer Class

Calvin Bryant, Lawrence County Extension Director

The second round of the Advanced Master Beef Producer Class will take place in February on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6-9pm. Producers who completed the Original Master Beef Producer Class from 2008-2010 will be required by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture to complete the Advanced Master Beef Producer Class in 2016 to become eligible for the TAEP cost-share at the 50% level.

The Advanced Master Beef Producer Class will also be available to producers who have never completed the Original Master Beef Producer Class. This will suffice for their TAEP requirements and these producers will be given added resource materials that graduates of the Original Master Beef Producer Classes have already received.

The class schedule is listed below:

8 Consecutive Tuesday and Thursday Nights from 6-9pm.

Tuesday February 2nd - in Lawrence County            Marketing/Andrew Griffith

Tuesday February 9th - in Maury County                  Genetics/David Kirkpatrick

Thursday February 11th - in Lawrence County    End Product/Ronnie Cowan

Thursday February 18th - in Giles County           Handling/Behavior/Richard Groce

Tuesday February 23rd - in Lawrence County           Health/Lew Strickland

Thursday February 25th - in Maury County               Reproduction/Justin Rhinehart

As in the past, the cost for the class will be $50 as long as you have a Premise ID and are current in your BQA Certification. Registration forms are available at the Extension Offices.
