Tuesday Crime Report

Lawrenceburg Now

Burglary

On Thursday, a Palmer Street resident reported someone had stolen her makeup case, containing $250 worth of makeup and jewelry, from inside her 2007 Toyota Yaris. The victim said she had posted a picture of the bag on Facebook and inquired whether anyone had information regarding its whereabouts. She told officers that she was contacted by a woman who reported she had bought the bag for $60. The victim was able to get some information about the person who had sold her bag. Authorities are continuing to investigate the matter.

Theft over $1,000

Police officers filed a report last week regarding the theft of axels, brake drums, and cams from a shop on Triple K Road, with a combined value of approximate $4,000. The victim told officers that he was able to locate and retrieve his items at Grimes Recycling. Officers collected information about the person who sold the items to the business, in the furtherance of the investigation.

Theft

Officers investigated the theft of some tires and wheels off of a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee that had been left at a shop for repair. The business owner said he had kept the vehicle inside the shop, but had moved it out to make room for other work, as the owner decided whether or not to continue the work. He told officers that sometime between 6:00 p.m. Thursday and 9:30 a.m. Friday, someone put the vehicle on blocks and stole both rear wheels and tires. Loss in the case totaled approximately $550.

Vandalism

A home on Old Florence Road sustained thousands of dollars worth of damage in a vandalism incident during the weekend. The eighty-two year old victim reported to police officer that someone had busted several windows and doors along with garage doors, the vinyl siding, and the HVAC unit. Damages were estimated to total $4,745.

Vandalism

Police officers answered a vandalism call to a Buffalo Road address shortly before 10:00 p.m. Sunday. The residents reports that a driver had left the roadway and run over their mailbox. Loss was said to be $80.

Theft

On Thursday, officers were summoned to a home on South Military Avenue. The resident reported that someone had stolen a black leather motorcycle jacket, Craftsman socket set, Craftsman electrical tester, and miscellaneous wrenches. Altogether, he estimated his loss to be $1,200. He told officers he had found no sign of forced entry to his home, and the items had likely been taken by an acquaintance. He said that he had received word that his belongings had been sold somewhere in Alabama.

Vandalism

A resident of Waterfork Road reported approximately $1,000 damage had been done to his fence during the previous night. A 6x6 post had been broken in half, a gate destroyed, around 300 feet of wire fencing, and ratchet tensioners were destroyed.
