Monday Crime Report
Lawrenceburg Now
Theft
Deputies spoke with a Grinnell Drive resident Monday who reported that he had loaned his vehicle to some acquaintances some time ago and has been unable to get it back. He told deputies that he has been unable to make contact with the man and woman and has seen no sign of his 2002 Chrysler 300, which is valued at $2,500. The deputy reports that he, too, attempted to contact the couple, but had no success. The vehicle was entered into the National Crime Information Center.
Attempted burglary
On Tuesday deputies responded to a Bonee Road home where the resident had returned to find that her front door was not closing properly. Deputies report that the door frame was cracked and the door would not close at the top. Damages totaled around $100.
Theft
Deputies spoke with a Rosier Road resident at the sheriff's department, who reported that someone had stolen numerous antique World War II era coins from various countries along with her Colt .45 handgun. The items were taken out of her house. Loss totaled around $3,000.
Vandalism
On Wednesday deputies responded to a Chisholm Creek Road home where the resident reported $1,500 in damages to her property. She said that sometime between midnight and 7:00 a.m. someone had struck her wooden fence, with chicken wire and barbed wire, damaging it. Deputies found car pieces, including a passenger side mirror, for a burgundy color Nissan car.
Burglary
Deputies were called to a Lawrence County home Wednesday to investigate a break-in. The complainant said that his father had recently moved to an assisted living facility and he had stopped by to check his property and the mail. He found that the door to the garage appeared to have been struck with a hammer, knocking off the padlock. The son checked inside the garage and discovered that a Stihl leaf blower valued at $200 had been stolen along with around $10,000 worth of miscellaneous hand tools. He said it appeared the person responsible had rummaged through items,
