Police Investigate Call Of Vehicle Being Vandalized
Lawrenceburg Now
Police officers were called upon to investigate after witnesses reported that a man was taking apart a vehicle he had taken for a test drive hours before.
Lawrenceburg Police officers were contacted on Tuesday afternoon by a representative of Sandrell’s Used Cars on North Locust Avenue. He reported that a man who had taken a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado out for a test drive around three hours prior, was in the parking lot of a nearby business, removing parts from it.
Reports show that when the man was approached, he was in the process of disassembling the dash. The reporting officer noted that “it appeared that the CD player and the entire front dash piece had been removed from the vehicle.”
The man told officers that he was merely “trying to make sure his personal CD player would work in the vehicle.” Damages were estimated at $500.
Zachary Clay Flippo, age 27, of 55 Whiteoak Drive, Leoma, was arrested on charges of vandalism over $500 and transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center. His bond was set at $2,500 and he was scheduled an initial court date of March 4, 2016.
