Inmate Charged With Bringing Drugs Into Jail

Lawrenceburg Now

A local inmate garnered additional charges last week after it was discovered that she had smuggled drugs into the Lawrence County Detention Center.

Employees received a tip Friday afternoon, indicating that inmate Brenda Gail Gann, 58, of 610 Main Street, Loretto, had smuggled drugs into the facility. During the ensuing investigation, corrections officers found that she had concealed a bag containing two acetaminophen/oxycodone hydrochloride pills that had been cut in half, along with 40 ½ clonazepam pills, inside a sling on her arm.

As a result of the incident, Gann was issued additional charges of introduction of contraband into a penal facility.
