Probation officers locate drugs during home visit
Lawrenceburg Now
A local man on probation is again facing charges after probation officers located drugs inside his residence during a home visit.
On Monday, Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a Beechwood Drive home at the request of probation officers with State Probation and Parole. They explained that they had been conducting a home visit at the residence of thirty-three year old Jason Wade Vanderford when the discovery was made.
After being allowed into the home, the probation officers said they had gone into Vanderford's bedroom where he was sleeping. One of the officers noticed a black metal container lying on the bed beside him. Inside, they found green pills identified as Diazepam, blue pills identified as Klonopin, and three plastic baggies that contained a crystal substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.
Vanderford told the deputies that he had been given the container by a friend and had not known what was inside.
Vanderford was arrested on charges of possession of schedule II narcotics and two counts of possession of schedule IV narcotics. He was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center for incarceration, without incident.
