Armed men invade Ethridge home

An Ethridge man reported to authorities Tuesday that he had experienced a considerable loss when armed men invaded his home that afternoon and assaulted him.

Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department responded to 122 Bud Taylor Road just after 3:30 p.m. The victim, age 43, reported that a man had come to his back door earlier, asking for directions. He said that the man asked to use his restroom and at that time, two other men ran inside his house.

The victim told deputies that one of the men had punched him in the face, knocking him out. He said that when he regained consciousness the men warned him not to look at them, so he laid down in his chair and covered his face.

Before they left, the men reportedly stole the victim's wallet containing various cards and personal information and $30 in cash along with his iPhone 6 plus, HP Pavilion laptop, and five of his prescription medications.

A neighbor reported that the men were traveling in a small four-door car. He said that he had noticed the vehicle there at around 2:00 p.m.

Altogether, losses were estimated to total $1,336.
