Friday Crime Report
Lawrenceburg Now
Theft
A resident of East Heights Street reported to police officers that he awakened last week to find that someone had stolen his 2004 Dodge Dakota from his driveway. He said he last saw it before he went to bed around 9:00 p.m. the previous night. He said the truck had a value of $4,000.
Vandalism
Officials with the Lawrence County Health Department reported to deputies that two windows at the facility had been vandalized. Holes were found in the glass panes. Damages were said to total $372.83.
Stolen vehicle burned
Deputies were dispatched to the South Ore/Robinson Road intersection last week where they found that a 2004 Dodge Dakota that had been reported as stolen out of Lawrenceburg, had been abandoned and burned. The truck was towed pending further investigation.
Vandalism
A resident of Summertown's Depot Street requested that deputies be dispatched to her home last weekend after she found what appeared to be holes from a BB gun in a front window and storm door. She said that she had been awakened the previous night by what she thought was the sound of breaking glass. She was looking about in the house and heard another sound outside. When she saw activity at a neighbor's property she assumed it was the source of the noise and went back to bed. She said she heard the same sound the following morning, then discovered the damages. Loss was estimated to be $200.
Recovered property
Deputies were summoned to a Gibbs Road property last weekend where a resident reported finding parts from an ATM machine. The parts had been left beside his driveway. Detectives collected evidence from the scene and continue to investigate the matter.
Theft
Police officers were called to a Groh Street home where the resident reported that her eight year old Shih Tzu had been stolen out of her fenced back yard. She said the theft occurred during a four hour time period that she was away, and showed them a spot where she speculated someone had "jumped the fence." The victim said the dog had a value of $600.
Theft
A fifty year old Jackson Street resident reported that a man who had stayed at his home had stolen his prescription medication and $215 in cash Sunday. He said the items were stolen while he slept.
