Maury County Jury convicts man of vehicular homicide.

According to District Attorney Brent Cooper: "Wednesday, January 19, a Maury County jury found William Michael Bowers, Jr. Of Vehicular Homicide by Intoxication. The verdict came after two days of proof presented by Assistant District Attorney Victoria Haywood.

The evidence centered on the August 21, 2020 crash where 68 year old Stella Barnett was killed. ADA Haywood is a Prosecutor who specializes in DUI related offenses. "She has worked for me about 5 years and has become extremely proficient in prosecuting impaired drivers. " DA Brent Cooper

"Our prayers go out to the Barnett family. Hopefully this verdict is somewhat of a comfort to them"

Bowers will be sentenced on March 31, 2022 at 1p.m. by Curcuit Judge Stella Hargrove.#DA22"
