Thursday morning meeting planned for Lawrenceburg Council
Lawrenceburg Now
Members of the Lawrenceburg Board of Mayor and Council face a fairly hefty agenda when they meet in regular session Thursday morning.
Council members will consider passage on second and final reading of nine separate ordinances meant to improve the city’s zoning ordinances. In addition, they will consider final passage of ordinances to rezone properties owned by Clayton Wilson and James and Melissa Brazier.
Four resolutions also appear on Thursday’s agenda. The first is to declare surplus property in the Parks and Recreation Department to be sold via internet auction. A second calls for amendments to the agreement with the Tennessee Department of Transportation regarding the Highway 43 Bypass.
A third resolution would authorize the installation of a traffic signal at the shopping center “belonging to the Walker Family, in the vicinity of Hardees restaurant across the street.”
The final resolution would authorize applying for a Federal Historic Preservation Grant on behalf of the city to be administered jointly through the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce and South Central Development District.
The meeting, which is open to the public, is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. in the council room at the city’s Municipal Complex located at 25 Public Square.
