Three year old treated after dog bites her face

A local man sought medical treatment for his young daughter Saturday after she was bitten in the face by a dog.

Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department were called upon to investigate the matter, which occurred at around 1:00 p.m. The father told deputies that he was inside of his Aldridge Road, Leoma home when he “heard a commotion going on outside.”

The father said he went outside and found that his three year old daughter had been bitten in the face by a dog. He said the dog did not run away, and that he had no idea who owned it. He told deputies that the dog might have been a stray.

The father took his daughter to a local medical facility for treatment for a cut she had sustained on her face.
