Manhunt lockout closes two area schools

Press release from Lawrence County School System

Lawrenceburg Public School was alerted earlier today by local law officials of a manhunt being conducted in the vicinity of the school.

This manhunt included many officers on the ground as well as a helicopter.  Immediately the proper lockout procedure ensued until there was no threat at LPS. 

E. O. Coffman was soon placed on lockout as well and dismissal of students was delayed.  Once the fugitive was apprehended students were dismissed. 

Thanks to the cooperation of the local law enforcement agencies, students, staff, and parents for working together to keep our students safe.
