Meds stolen from victim’s walker
Lawrenceburg Now
Police officers opened an investigation during the weekend after an elderly resident discovered that her medication had been stolen from her walker.
The victim, age seventy-eight, filed a complaint with Lawrenceburg Police officers Sunday afternoon. She reported that a female relative and her boyfriend had stayed at her home the previous night. She said she had let them sleep in her bedroom and that she slept on the couch.
When she got up at around 11:00 the next morning, she said that the couple was gone. She soon discovered that some of her oxycodone pills were missing from her prescription bottle, which she kept in a compartment on her walker. Her caretaker arrived shortly afterward and determined that a total of twenty-three pills were missing.
While he was at the home, the reporting officer indicates that the female relative returned to pick up some items she had left behind. He reports that, without prompting, she “voluntarily started saying that she didn’t take…the pills.” She began to accuse another person of having taken the pills. She told the officer that she did not know the whereabouts of her boyfriend because they had broken up.
At the present time officers are continuing to investigate the allegations.
