Arrest made after man kicks open ex’s apartment door
Lawrenceburg Now
Police officers were dispatched to a Manor Drive home Saturday afternoon when the resident reported that her ex-boyfriend was forcing his way inside.
The victim, age twenty-nine, requested that officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department respond to the address at around 5:45 p.m.
Officers arrived to find that the entry door was damaged and appeared to have been kicked in. Inside, they found the victim’s ex-boyfriend, sitting on the couch in the living room, and he acknowledged that he did not live there.
The victim told officers that he had knocked on her door and she had told him that “she had company and he was not welcome.” She said at that point he kicked the door open and entered her home without her permission. Damages to the door were estimated to total $150.
The ex, identified as thirty-four year old Anthony Curt McGee of 405 Oak Street, Lawrenceburg, denied having forced his way into the apartment. He was arrested on charges of vandalism resulting from domestic violence and transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center.
McGee was booked, then incarcerated under a bond of $2,000. He is scheduled for an initial appearance in General Sessions Court on February 2, 2017.
