Man Wanted For Assaulting Wife And Daughter In Alabama Apprehended In Loretto
A man accused of assaulting his wife and young daughter in Lexington, Alabama was apprehended in the Loretto area Wednesday afternoon.
Lauderdale County, Alabama law enforcement agencies had been seeking the whereabouts of Lexington resident Timothy Roe Joiner, age 30, since the incident occurred on January 15. Authorities allege that Joiner became engaged in a domestic altercation with his wife at the home of some relatives located on Lauderdale 51.
During the altercation he is accused of beating his wife while pinning her to a bed, poking her eye, kicking her in the face, head and ribs, then choking her. She reported to authorities that he had held their five year old daughter and threatened to leave with her.
She said she was able to grab her daughter, then cover her body with her own after they fell onto the floor. She said she shielded her daughter while Joiner kicked and punched her. The girl reportedly sustained blows to the back of the head and arm.
Joiner fled when family members placed a 911 call for assistance. He was located at a residence in Loretto at around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, five days after the assault occurred.
Joiner was jailed under charges that include domestic violence strangulation/suffocation, domestic violence reckless endangerment, and two counts of domestic violence third-degree assault.
