Woman injured in attempted robbery in parking lot
Lawrenceburg Now
A local woman sustained some minor injuries Monday evening when she became the target of an attempted robbery in the parking lot of a Lawrenceburg business.
According to reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department, officers were dispatched Tuesday to Fast Pace Medical where the twenty-two year old victim had sought medical care.
The victim told officers that she had been approached at around 7:15 the previous night while in the parking lot of Walmart on North Locust Avenue. She told officers that as she exited her Hyundai Santa Fe she was approached from behind by an unknown black man. She said that the man asked for her wallet and that she turned to face him and began to back away.
The victim backed into a shopping cart, causing her to move forward and bump into the man. She said that she fell to the ground, causing some cuts on her right arm and forehead. She told officers that at that point the man fled and she did not see him again.
The victim said that another man, possibly a Walmart employee, approached her to see if she was okay. Shaken, she said that she immediately left, heading to a friend’s house.
The victim sought treatment for the cuts she had sustained after she got off of work Tuesday evening. She told officers that it had been medical personnel who had called to report the matter. She said that she had not filed a report at the time the incident occurred “because she didn’t think it was a big deal.”
