Deputies issue additional charges while serving warrants
Lawrenceburg Now
Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies issued additional charges while serving warrants last week when the recipients were less than cooperative.
On Thursday deputies made their way to a Graves Drive home to serve a violation of probation warrant to twenty-nine year old Hope Victoria Blocker. A resident directed deputies to a front bedroom and they report that a woman responded when they knocked, then fell silent.
Deputies report that Blocker exited to the front porch through the bedroom's exterior door, then fled on foot. Blocker fled into Mimosa Cemetery, across East Gaines Street, to the Lawrenceburg Presbyterian Church property, then continued toward Admiral Circle. At that point deputies caught up to her and took her into custody.
Blocker was booked on the violation of probation warrant as well as the additional charge of evading arrest.
On Friday, deputies attempted to serve an arrest warrant to Christopher Windham at a home on Gilbreath Street. While one of the deputies knocked on the front door, other deputies reported seeing a man inside, later identified as thirty year old Mark Gordon Graham of Weakley Loop in Ethridge.
After around twenty minutes at the home with no response, deputies report that Graham exited through a rear door and was detained. He told them that he had been asleep on the couch when he heard knocking, so he went to the back door to see who was there.
Deputies report that they asked Graham repeatedly whether Windham was inside the home. He told them he was unsure. He said he had last seen him talking on his phone in the home's attached garage.
Deputies warned Graham that, should they find Windham inside the home, he would be arrested for obstructing of process. They entered and were able to locate Windham and place him under arrest. Graham was then arrested, as well. Both were transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center without further incident.
