Thefts Reported From Building Being Remodeled To Serve As Museum And Restaurant

   Thefts were reported from a building in the Ethridge area that was being renovated to serve as a museum and restaurant for tourists visiting Amish Country.

   The owner reported to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that the crime occurred at a property located at 1016 Brewer Road. He said that on Saturday he had discovered that a Dewalt brand table saw had been stolen from inside the building. Authorities were unable to identify a point of entry and reports show that the lock was still intact.

   The victim said that shortly after making the discovery he found that a large air compressor and tank had been stolen from inside the adjacent barn.

   Altogether, the victim said that losses would total around $1,100. At the present time the matter remains under investigation.
