Tuesday Crime Report
Burglary
A resident of Simms Street requested that police officers investigate after he discovered Thursday that both of his sheds had been burglarized. The screws had been removed from the latches on both sheds and numerous items were stolen. Total loss was estimated to be $1,950.
Vandalism
Police officers were called to U-SAVE Car & Truck Rentals on North Locust Avenue last week where employees reported that two vehicles that had been rented by the same man had been vandalized. They estimated that the 2015 Chrysler 200 and the 2014 Chevrolet Cruz had sustained around $1,000 worth of damage apiece.
Aggravated burglary
Officers were summoned to a Liberty Avenue address Saturday after the resident discovered that someone had broken into her home. Reports indicate that the perpetrator entered through a rear window, damaging a curtain rod in the process. Stolen were a castle shaped picture frame, a children’s book and $200 in cash. Loss and damages totaled $265.
Vandalism
Police officers responded to Charter Communications on Springer Road just after 10:00 a.m. Sunday after damage to the building was discovered. According to reports it appeared that someone had backed into the building causing some $2,000 worth of damage. Damages reportedly occurred sometime during the previous night.
Vandalism
A Lafayette Avenue resident reported Sunday night that his privacy fence had been damaged. He requested that officers be dispatched to investigate at around 10:00 p.m. The victim reported that a motorist had struck the fence, then fled. He was able to obtain a license plate number while the driver was fleeing the scene. Damages were said to total around $2,000.
