Burglary Discovered At Highway 20 Home
Lawrenceburg Now
Burglars targeted a home on Highway 20 in the Summertown area last week, stealing items of jewelry, cash, and medication.
Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department were summoned to the home around 9:30 p.m. The female resident had reportedly left home around 2:20 p.m., returning around twenty-five minutes later to retrieve some items. She then left again. She said she returned around 4:00 p.m.
The resident said that when she entered her bedroom she noticed that her jewelry box had been moved and was left open. She and her husband began to search through the home. They discovered that some hydrocodone pills had been stolen along with a jar containing cash and change. Missing from the jewelry box were wedding rings that had belonged to the victim’s parents, two class rings, and a slide bracelet. She estimated loss at $1,341.
Investigation in the matter is currently on-going through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone with pertinent information is encouraged to contact the department at 931-762-3626.
