Resident suspects visitor stole her rent money

Lawrenceburg Now

A Lawrenceburg woman filed a complaint with police officers on Sunday after she discovered that her rent money had been stolen.

The victim, a thirty-six year old resident of South Columbia Avenue, reported the matter to officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department shortly before 10:00 a.m.

The victim explained that an acquaintance had come to her home two days prior to visit with her cousin. She said that her cousin asked her to loan the acquaintance $200 and that she agreed to do so.

The victim said that her landlord had come to collect her rent Sunday morning at which point she discovered that $350 was missing from her wallet.

At the present time the case remains under investigation.
