License plates targeted by thieves

License plates have been targeted by thieves in a number of recent crimes reported through the Lawrenceburg Police Department. Police officers spoke with one victim who reported the license plate was stolen off of his 1999 Ford Expedition while it was parked in the parking lot of Victory Baptist Church, located at 225 Highway 43 South. Loss in the case was said to be around $50.

Officers spoke with two employees of Modine Manufacturing on Remke Avenue who reported that their license plates had been stolen while they were working.

The 2006 Ford Expedition and 2009 Chevrolet Traverse were parked beside one another at the time the crimes occurred. Each plate stolen resulted in a loss of $76 for the owner.In a separate incident officers were asked to investigate a vehicle burglary that occurred outside of a Crowson Road home.

The owners reported that someone illegally gained entry to their 1999 Ford Explorer while it was parked at their home overnight. The only thing that appeared to be missing was a wallet.
