Employees Report Thefts From Physician’s Office

Employees of a Lawrenceburg physician reported Wednesday that a patient had apparently stolen items while her children received inoculations.

The report was filed with officers from the Lawrenceburg Police Department. Reports show they were summoned to The Children’s Clinic, 2121 North Locust Avenue, at 2:00 p.m.

A twenty-four-year-old employee reported her cell phone had been taken from atop her desk, inside her office. The second employee, age 27, reported her purse was missing, along with all the contents, and that a Welch Allyn thermometer was also missing. Total loss was estimated at $1,024.00.

Both women explained that only one individual had access to all areas from which items were missing that morning. The woman, they reported, had been “walking around while her children got their shots.”

The officer was able to inform the second victim that some of her property had been recovered earlier that morning at Catos on North Locust Avenue. Her wallet and passport had been discovered abandoned inside the store.

Investigation into the matter is continuing at the current time through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
