Monday Crime Report
Theft
A Lawrenceburg man approached an officer working traffic along West Gaines Street Saturday to report that someone had stolen the license plate off of his 2001 Ford Expedition. He said the crime occurred while it was parked on his carport. Loss totals $49.
Recovered property
A local woman reported to police officers Friday that she had gone to get her pistol out of pawn only to find that it had previously been reported stolen. The victim reported that she had purchased the pistol at one local pawn shop, then later pawned it at another. A computer check revealed that the 9mm Luger Hi-Point had been reported as stolen in South Carolina. The gun was taken into evidence and South Carolina authorities notified.
