Local Business Reports Pay Pal Account Hacked
Owners of a Lawrenceburg business reported last week that someone had hacked their Pay Pal account then used their debit card information to make fraudulent purchases.
Officers were called to Carats, Diamonds and Gold on First Avenue where the owners reported the crime. They reported that after hacking into their Pay Pal account, the culprit was able to obtain their debit card number. He then used that information to make three purchases totaling $453.24.
Authorities said the only purchase they were able to track was delivered to an unknown address in Beaumont, Texas.
Investigation in the matter is on-going.
