Burglar Targets Fire Department
A burglar targeted a local fire department Wednesday afternoon, committing the crime while firefighters had been dispatched on a call.
Officials with Southeast Fire Department in Five Points reported to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that they had been dispatched on a call around 4:30 p.m.
When they returned, they said they discovered someone had stolen a recently-purchased, 100 foot extension cord, orange in color.
Officials reported loss to total around $70.00.
