Summertown Resident Jailed In Connection With Burglaries In Giles County

A Summertown man was one of three arrested Tuesday in Giles County in connection with a series of burglaries that are believed to be related to the use of methamphetamine.

Authorities indicate that the arrests were made by members of the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force.

Mt. Pleasant resident Michael Anthony Lindsey, age 30, was arrested on Giles County charges that include theft of property over $1,000, theft of property over $10,000, and violation of circuit court probation.

Summertown resident Paul Andrew Hedgepath, 37, and Giles resident Austin Lee Burchell, Sr., age 38 were each charged with theft of property over $10,000.

All three men were incarcerated at the Giles County Jail. Bond for Hedgepath was set at $10,000, Burchell’s at $50,000, and Lindsey’s at $100,000. A hold without bond was also issued for Lindsey in connection with a violation of probation charge out of Lawrence County.

Authorities allege that the trio sold stolen property to individuals in Maury, Marshall and other counties. They ask that anyone who purchased, or was approached about purchasing property from these men contact the Giles County Sheriff’s Department as soon as possible.

At this point they are attempting to identify the whereabouts of a 2011 Honda Rubicon, 2012 John Deere Gator (camouflage in color), a 24-foot Trail Lite camper (white and teal in color), and an orange Husqvarna lawn tractor.

Anyone with knowledge about the crimes or the purchase of stolen property is asked to call the sheriff’s department at 931-363-3505.

Authorities say that additional arrests are expected.
