Victim Tracks Stolen Phone To Lewisburg

A woman who reported that her cell phone had been stolen out of her vehicle told law enforcement officers Tuesday that she had tracked the phone to Lewisburg.

The fifty-one year old victim reported the crime to officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department. Reports show that she had left her white Samsung Galaxy III phone on the passenger seat inside her 2009 Nissan Murano.

The victim said that she had parked the vehicle in the parking lot at Quik Mart #30 on North Locust Avenue at around 10:00 p.m. Saturday. She returned to discover that it was missing. The phone has an estimated value of $330.

The victim told officers that since the theft she had been tracking the phone via the internet. She said that she had first tracked it to a location on Shotwell Road.

She tracked it to a location on Erwin Road in Lewisburg on Tuesday. Later that day, she said she was able to track it to Holly Berry Street in Lewisburg.

Authorities are working to determine whether there was video surveillance showing the crime. The investigation is currently on-going.
